Men were made to read some mean tweets directed at women sportswriters! Their reactions are incredibly powerful.
Sarah Spain and Julie DiCaro are both women who make their living as sportswriters.
For that, it seems, many men believe they should be punished! Which is why hordes of Twitter idiots regularly deluge them with vile harassment and threats. Social media allows cowards to hide behind their keyboards- spewing their half formed thoughts on to the world. The global trend to remove comments from news sites suggests that the problem of trolling, of sexist, racist, and violent comments is a real problem.
So how would men respond if they were put in a room with the very women men target? In a new video, Spain and DiCaro had normal, non-sociopathic men read some of those tweets aloud; many of the participating men nearly broke down in tears.
This is one of the most powerful videos I have seen. The mean tweets start off quite mildly and then quickly get really, really ugly!
