Meet the man who's the eye in the sky for rhinos
Updated | By Lubz and Erin
Lubz and Erin got the opportunity to chat with the man who's responsible for protecting rhinos from being poached.
We had the honour of chatting with Ian Waghorn, who heads up the Air Wing at Project Rhino based here in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal.
Project Rhino is an NPO whose efforts go towards protecting our animals in reserves. Ian's job as the head of the Air Wing is to be the 'eye in the sky', patrolling for poachers and creating a surveillance presence in the air to deter poachers from the area.

They have encountered some mechanical problems with their aircraft used for these patrols and need to replace the engine. The plane has been grounded for just over two weeks, and in this short space of time, they've already seen a climb in poaching incidents.
As an NPO, they need to raise R250,000 to replace the engine and get back in the sky, and they need your help to do so.
We caught up with Ian to find out more about what he does and how the public can get involved and make a difference.
