Spot the rare blue moon on Halloween

Once in a blue moon... is 19 years to be exact.
This is a scarce occurrence and can only be viewed every 19 years.

Technically, there are two definitions for a blue moon.
The first type of blue moon is when there are two full moons that appear in the same month.

The second type of blue moon describes the third of fourth full moons that can be seen within a single month. This is set to happen again on the 22nd of August 2021.
The one visible on Halloween this year is the first type of blue moon.
On Halloween night a rare Blue Moon will be visible across all times zones. It will not shine blue, but the name is given because it is the second full moon to appear in the same month – the first occurs October 1

Contrary to popular belief, the moon will not be shining blue light. Scientists have indeed warned people not to fall for any photoshopped pictures of blue filtered moons.
The moon can appear blue in very rare cases, but there would have to be very unusual sky conditions, such as particles of dust and smoke, for this to occur.

What makes this even more special is that the moon will be visible in all time zones across the world!
The next time this type of moon will be visible will be on Halloween in 2039 - and the last time was during World War II in 1944.
