South African man breaks Marmite eating Guinness World Record
Eating and enjoying Marmite is definitely an acquired taste and not for everyone.
Did you know that someone has previously set a Guinness World Record for eating the most Marmite?

Neither did we!
These days there is pretty much a world record for everything.
But even we have to admit that if you are brave enough to ingest large amounts of Marmite, you deserve the biggest round of applause.

Well, Pretoria native, Billy 'Bilnasty' Cowley, decided to take life by the horns and amp it up after he survived melanoma skin cancer 13 years ago.
And what better way to do that than setting out on a mission to smash the world record for eating Marmite?!

After months of preparation, the big day finally arrived and he made himself comfortable at Hennie's bar, but did find it a bit harder than he expected.
He said at one point he took such a big bite that it got stuck in his throat and he thought this was the end.

But he's had to tackle bigger obstacles than a bit of Marmite and with all his supporters cheering him on, he was able to complete his goal!
He beat the previous record of 368 grams of Marmite by eating an incredible 419 grams in 60 seconds.
