Sir David Attenborough breaks Instagram record

The 94-year-old naturalist made his debut with an IGTV video about climate change.
In October 2019, Jennifer Aniston set the record for reaching one-million Instagram followers in only five hours and 16 minutes.

But on 24 September 2020, Sir David Attenborough smashed this record by joining Instagram and in only four hours and 44 minutes he had reached a million followers!
As mentioned, his first post was an IGTV video where he speaks on the dangers of climate change, while his first story post introduces the two men who will be running his account.

They explained that Attenborough isn't really the social media type, but he has recorded messages that will be used on the platform.
The account runners, Collin Butfield and Johnnie Hughes, also worked on Sir David's upcoming Netflix documentary, 'A Life On Our Planet'.
