Indulge your inner daredevil in Morgan Bay
Updated | By Beautiful News
With endless attractions for every member of the family, Morgan Bay is a holidaymaker’s paradise.
Unspoilt natural beauty and heart-pumping thrills merge like waves with the sand in Morgan Bay. Along South Africa’s spectacular Wild Coast, this is the ultimate seaside destination. Pack up the kids and the car, and make your way to this shoreline of wonders.
GO
An hour’s drive from East London, Morgan Bay is a holidaymaker’s paradise. From criss-crossing trails to sheer rock faces, the region exudes potential for daring feats.
SEE
On the first Saturday of every month, the eco-conscious community of Yellowwood Forest hosts a market. Join the festivities and lap up the live music, face painting, and local crafts. Accommodation ranging from a glamping van to cottages is also offered here, providing a central base from which to explore Morgan Bay.
Away from the busy mile-long beach, take a dip in a secluded tidal pool. Catch sight of Cape Morgan Lighthouse above, one of four lighthouses dotted along the Wild Coast. It’s a short walk through the trees to reach this illuminating tower.
DO
Plunge headfirst into adventure here. Abseil down dolerite cliffs with the sea churning below, mountain bike through rugged terrain, or paddle board on the tranquil Inchara lagoon. Motorised boats are not permitted on the river, making this a safe swimming spot for kids. The winter months dish out the best conditions for surfing, so bring your board or rent one from Yellowwood Forest.
Soak up the sun in this coastal town, where time is told by the sun’s rising and setting, not appointments and alarms. Return to reality refreshed and rejuvenated by a rich getaway.
