The shoes go beyond protecting a child’s feet; they provide them with the confidence needed to achieve their goals and a sense of dignity. It offers the child a sense of hope, in that someone cared enough, realised their potential, and gave them a pair of shoes to kick-start their dreams. Who knows where these shoes will take them...

Partners for Possibility, working together with Elan Property, is a co-action, co-learning partnership between school principals and business leaders, enabling social cohesion through partnerships, and empowering principals to become change leaders in their schools and communities.

We received a mail from Partners for Possibility telling us about New Guelderland Combined School, who along with three other schools in the rural areas of KZN, have about 1,000 learners in total who are in desperate need of school shoes.
90% of these children arrive at school each day without shoes.
Swastika Juggernath, The Bata SA Marketing Manager, joined us in the studio to give the principles of the schools the good news.
All 1,000 children are about to receive a pair of new school shoes.
