A French author has outraged social media following his comments made about loving women over the age of 50.

Yann Moix, a 50-year-old popular French author and television presenter - who has won several literary prizes and directed three films, has shocked the nation over his recent comments about loving a woman over the age of 50.
The Guardian reports that he told a magazine: "Come on now, let’s not exaggerate! That’s not possible … too, too old.” He also added that mature women are "invisible' to him and that a younger woman is 'extraordinary'.

Some people didn’t even bother to respond in writing, they merely posted pictures of celebrities over 50 like Halle Berry and Jennifer Aniston on social media. Others took to Twitter to express their views on Moix's comments.
Check out their reactions below:
Maybe a fifty plus woman has no interest in you most younger men are turning to older women cause they’ve lived many have suffered but they still know love is not a financial reward system.unlike younger give give want want want .so god luck .

Missing the point. Why would anyone over 50 - with all the wisdom and experience that that invariably entails - want someone who didn't want them? They just wouldn't.

Never heard of him & who cares what this guy thinks? Tracey, 2 doors from me likes skinny guys but Sandra, lives opposite, likes her men 10 years younger than her & must have a six pack. Report that!

What a very sad man he is, love and attraction has no barriers. I hope he ends up old and alone!

He’s incapable of love full stop, except of himself of course 🙄

@YannMoix no doubt this is a publicity stunt as no-one in the UK has heard of him...Not too appealing physically anyway so no loss to womenkind!

“Very classy Yann Moix. Very very classy. But like stupidity and vulgarity have no age, it’s reassuring in his case as I doubt many women want (these qualities)”

I think it’s great that he’s honest about what he likes, especially since he must have known it would offend many. I would much rather people be honest and open about their prejudices instead of hiding them under a facade of what is socially acceptable. For me, at the end of the day – it’s his personal opinion, and his likes and dislikes don’t really have anything to do with anyone else.

However, there is something about his comment that just rubs me up the wrong way. Is it because he just happens to be 50 himself? I wonder what women over 50 think of him?
