Woman uses cheeky tactic to save parking spot for dad
Updated | By Damon Beard
Would you go as far as this to save a parking spot?
One of the most annoying things about driving is trying to find a parking spot - especially if you find yourself in a packed mall.
It's almost like a race to see who can find a parking spot first and if you're in a rush, you'll do about anything to secure it. With that in mind, many have branded this woman's tactic as 'ridiculous' after seeing her in action.
Dashcam footage captured by Nicholas Chew in New York starts with him attempting to make his way into a parking space. Then, all of a sudden, a woman stands in the spot claiming that she was there first, and was reserving it for her dad, who was soon to arrive.

What made the incident ridiculous was that her dad was nowhere in sight and she refused to budge no matter how many times the driver honked his horn at her.
But is this a case of first come, first served or should you be able to claim a parking spot by standing in it?
LADBible reports that Chew spoke up after the incident and said that he could not believe how childish she acted in the situation.
"I'm sure we've all had our share of standing in spots hoping to save it for someone, but if another car gets there first, we don't act like little entitled children like these two here," he said.

Eventually, he gave up and moved to another spot which was offered to him by a fellow motorist.
