What started as a very cute and entertaining moment soon turned into chaos.
Beachgoers in northern Germany were pleasantly surprised when they spotted a wild animal swimming in the sea.

The swine can be seen swimming in the Baltic Sea, with its ears and snout being the only things poking out above the water.
While approaching the beach and getting closer, crowds gathered to enjoy the spectacle.

But things quickly turned into pandemonium when the boar touched down on the beach and came charging at full speed.
In the video, you can hear people shouting "laufen!", which loosely translates to "run!"
One man went to hit the boar with a spade, but the boar could not be stopped.

The animal continued on through people, beach umbrellas, and more before finally running off the beach.

Now, this might seem like a very strange incident, but wild boars are known to be able swimmers.
Last year, a whole herd was found swimming several kilometers across the Malacca strait, all the way from Indonesia to Malaysia, and then went on to terrorise farmers upon arrival.

They are also widely known to be mischievous animals, with a naked man having to chase one down just last week and led to Danish authorities trying to keep them out by deciding to build a fence spanning the German border.
Although we hope we never have to come across these troublemakers, you have to admit, it does sound familiar to anyone who has ever interacted with some of South Africa's own mischief-makers - monkeys!
