Thandolwethu caught up with two winners from the DUT Fashion Fair for a candid chat.

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Fashion and Textile department hosted its Annual Fashion Show at The Durban Station Event Space on Wednesday, 2 October 2019.
I had the pleasure of sitting on the judging panel for the show, and I was absolutely blown away by the students and how creative they are.

The designs were on point. I would not mind wearing a dress (or two) from the talented designers who showcased their work on stage.

According to an article by DUT, the Head of the Fashion and Textiles Department, Sunthra Moodley, said that it takes a lot to break into the fashion industry, and the show is the perfect place to show off the talent we have in the country.
The two big winners of the night were Alexandra van Heerden (Judges' Award) and Babalwa Matiyela (Innovative Range Award).
