See the Canadian dancers that dress up and act like sheep
"Just when I thought I couldn't come across anything weirder than the Pony Play festival, this comes along..." says Damon Beard after watching this dance group's strange routine.
Last year, a video of a 'flock of humans' who were acting like sheep, dressed in full sheep costumes, and placed in a makeshift pen, went viral on Facebook. The video racked up over 11-million views, with many, like me, questioning what exactly was going on.
The 'flock of sheep' are known as 'Les Moutons', and they are part of the Corpus Dance Project from Canada. According to their Facebook page, the group was co-founded in 1997 by Sylvie Bouchard and artistic director David Danzon.

They are known for their comedic and surreal choreography, and as an audience member, you can expect to see a flock of 'sheep' going through various sheep activities, including being shepherded, sheared, milked (this was disturbing to watch), and even mating. What?!
It seems as if their humourous performance has become a huge success. The group has travelled to various places around the world, including Sweden, Australia, Japan, and Canada. They were in Cape Town this past May. I wish I could have gone to see them in action! Bummer.
