Nairobi Governor adding small bottles of Hennessy to care packs

Nairobi Governor,
Mike Sonko, has come under fire on social media after saying that he would be
adding small bottles of Hennessy to care packages
While South Africa has banned the purchasing of alcohol, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, announced in a press conference on Tuesday, that he would be adding small bottles of Hennessy to care packs that he's distributing.
"We will be giving some small bottles of Hennessy in the food package which we give to our people. I think from the research done by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and various health organisations, it has been revealed that alcohol plays a major role in killing the coronavirus or any sort of virus," Sonko said.

He referred to the fact that hand sanitisers had a large alcohol content and claimed that the alcohol would help Kenyans in the same way. The WHO has however said that drinking alcohol offers no protection against the coronavirus — and that frequent or excessive alcohol use can increase the risk of health problems.
