Meet the young musician who plays music to homeless dogs
Updated | By Beautiful News
Watch how Namgamso Xaso selflessly shares her music with animals in shelters.
Music is a divine element. For something that can’t be touched or seen, it can have a powerful impact. When 14-year-old Namgamso Xaso ignited her talent as a saxophonist, she began sharing her gift in an unusual way. “I play to dogs because I thought it would keep them calm and they would love the way it sounds,” she says.
Venturing to animal shelters, Xaso plays smooth melodies while homeless dogs sway in tune. “These animals need to be cheered up, even if it’s just one song,” she says. “Sometimes animals respond by howling, barking, or jumping around. Many rescues in shelters don’t find forever homes immediately. Music holds the ability to transcend despair in any form and bring comfort to them. “The things we give don’t always have to be material,” Xaso says.
As a member of the Kronendal Music Academy, Xaso also plays for an orchestra and jazz band. When she’s not practising or performing, she delivers her magic to other sentient beings. “To know my music can help animals makes me feel I can change the world,” Xaso says. It’s not always about what you have to give, but how you use your gifts to light up a life.
