The Marvel Cinematic Universe welcomes another female director

Nia DaCosta is the latest female director to be added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's long list of outstanding talent.
After cutting her teeth on the "spiritual sequel" to the 1992 slasher film, 'Candyman', it has been announced that Nia DaCosta will be taking the reins of the film, 'Captain Marvel 2'.

Marvel Studios is known for switching their directors when it comes to their popular franchises to provide a fresh perspective. This has previously been done with both the 'Iron Man' and 'Captain America' franchises.
She is following in the footsteps of fellow female directors Chloe Zhao, director of MCU's 'The Eternals', and Cathy Yan, director of 'Birds Of Prey' from the DC Extended Universe.

This big news comes after she was at the helm of the highly anticipated horror movie, 'Candyman', for which she also received the deserving praises of fellow horror film director Jordan Peele.
When talking about her work, Peele mentioned that the movie was in great hands when given to DaCosta and that Nia has a steady manner about her, while being refined and elegant making her shots beautiful.

Not only are we excited to see what the future holds for Nia DaCosta, we certainly can't wait to one day get back to the cinema and watch the next great comic-book hero blockbuster!
