Kicking off Women's Month with #NationalGirlfriendsDay
Updated | By East Coast Radio
What better way to start celebrating Women's Month than with #NationalGirlfriendsDay
The women in our lives should be celebrated all day, every day.
So it's only fitting that the first day of Women's Month would be none other than #NationalGirlfriendsDay.

Contrary to popular belief, this day is not meant for the loved up couples, but truly focuses on the bond between women and girlfriends.
It encourages women to take time from their busy schedules and strengthen the bonds of female friendship.
Life can fly by so quickly and although these special relationships might cross our mind frequently, before we know it a week has gone by without us checking in. It's never intentional, it's just life.

We might get comfortable in these relationships, and justify our silence by saying "she knows how much she means to me." But we do forget how much a quick "hi, how are you" might mean to someone.
It doesn't matter whether you choose to reconnect with a childhood friend, go on a coffee date with your best friend or spend the day bonding with your sister/mother (because their girlfriends too).
This day promotes laughter, happiness, and that deeper, one-of-a-kind connection that only girlfriends share.

So let it serve as a reminder to send that message, give that hug that's been long overdue and let these women know how much they mean to you every single day.
Happy #NationalGirlfriendsDay!
