It's raining... chocolate?

Sure, nature can be unpredictable sometimes, but can it really rain chocolate?

Scientifically speaking: no, at this point in time there is no evidence to show that chocolate could one day pour from the clouds above.

So what led to Olten, a small town in Switzerland, being covered in a fine dusting of chocolate?
The Lindt and Spruengli company had to apologise to the town after an issue with the cooling ventilation system in one of their factories malfunctioned, which when combined with the strong winds, had most of the town covered in chocolate powder.
The problem occurred on the roasted cocoa nibs production line, which are crushed fragments of the beans and is the basis for all chocolate.

The company has also mentioned that the dust is "completely harmless" and have started the cleaning process.
Unlike when it rained frogs in Canada and earthworms in Norway, this chocolate downpour was welcomed by the town.
