Fundi Zwane smells of success
Updated | By East Coast Radio
There
is just no stopping this local actress and businesswoman as she expands her
brand to now include not one, but two fragrances.
She’s the founding director of ‘The Phezulu Phambili Collective’, she produces ‘Living Lit with @FundiZwane’, and she is also known for her role as 'Rethabile' on the SABC1 soap opera, ‘Generations’.
Now she has decided to add scent master to her ever-growing list of accomplishments.
And so, her debut fragrance, Camagu by Fundi Zwane, was born.

Speaking on the name, Zwane said that she wanted to pay tribute to her African heritage with the word “Camagu” being an isiXhosa term for when one is in a “space of deep gratitude”.
To her this is synonymous with a unanimous agreement and that it attributes personality and movement while holding great power.
As mentioned, Zwane did not branch out into the perfume industry by launching just one perfume, ‘Camagu Femme’, but by also releasing a unisex fragrance called, ‘Camagu Oud’.

When describing the two different scents, she says that ‘Camagu Femme’ is for the classically, confident woman who is in love with the idea of her journey and self-discovery. While ‘Camagu Oud’ moves across gender boundaries and is for those open to understanding the potential and power of their masculine and feminine energy.
The idea came to her quite a few months ago and she was excited to pursue a project that combines her passion for the beauty industry, as well as business and creativity.
While not experiencing too many issues during the creative and collaboration process, things did take a slightly more difficult turn when the nationwide lockdown was imposed.

She still hopes that every person would want to experience ‘Camagu’ and have them enjoy the chemistry between scent and their bodies, so that eventually, a love story will unfold.
Although we might not be able to get our hands, or noses, on the scents just yet, you can watch the video below for a sneak peek:
