Four important questions you should ask on your first date

Dating can be a very daunting experience, but it doesn't always have to be. 

One of the most important things to remember is that your first date is the most important. It's an opportunity for you to get to know your date and to see if they will be the perfect match for you - and to obviously find out if they will make it to date two.

Picture this - you're all ready for your date to arrive and have a whole list of things to ask your date but don't know which questions should be asked? Luckily for us, Cosmopolitan has put together a list of important questions that you should ask while on your first date. 

Here are four important questions that should be asked on your first date:

'Are you a cat or dog person?'

Because nothing would be worse than if their response is 'I hate pets'. Ouch! That could put a block on things.

'What's the last good thing you read?'

A person's choice in books tells a lot about them and their intelligence. If you're an educated person and looking for someone to match you, then this is a must!

'Are you a morning or a night person?'

This will allow you to find out how you will be able to fit into their schedule. If they love getting up early to get in a morning workout, then those late night dinners that run into the morning may not be the best thing ever.

'What do you do all day?'

If you're career driven and an independent individual, you are probably looking for someone who lives out on their own and isn't relying on mum or dad to fit their bills. Let's be honest, in this day and age, being with someone who has a job and earns money has to be considered, right?
