Listen to the audio here:
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool which has been used for many years to help patients suffering from various illnesses and phobias ranging from nail-biting to depression, fear of failure and addictions.
But the question remains, how can it be used to help someone quit smoking?
In order to change an unhealthy habit, we first need to build positive associations to new behaviour patterns at the subconscious level.
Part two with Hypnotherapist Kay Reddy:
"I use relaxation and visualisation techniques and the power of suggestion to reprogramme the subconscious mind which is our software," said Reddy.
The basic principals for hypnosis for addiction is to bring those unhealthy thoughts to the surface and replace those with positive thoughts to encourage the smoker to see that they are leaning on something so dangerous to their health.
