Durban family apart for 16 weeks and counting due to international lockdown

Durban woman Philippa Palahniuk spoke to Thandolwethu about the struggle of living without her husband Matt, who is stuck in Indonesia amidst the global pandemic.

Philippa managed to get home from Indonesia days before lockdown began in South Africa, but her husband, Matt, was not so fortunate.

Matt is on an American passport and has not been able to leave Indonesia and return home.
Their son was originally stuck in Florida, but managed to fly back home to Durban a few weeks ago.

Philippa says they’re finding it very difficult, but are hopeful to see each other again, at least within the next few months.
