Damon lends a helping hand to a woman diagnosed with breast cancer
Updated | By Damon Beard
Elize wrote into the Big Favour asking for what she said was an 'embarrassing' request - to have three mastectomy bra's made.
Being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and having to go through chemotherapy and radiation, Elize had a partial removal of her right breast- meaning her left breast was normal but her right breast was a lot smaller.
Seventeen years later Elize finds she has no confidence and to make matters worse, she and her husband are both unemployed.
Her dream - to have three mastectomy bra's made.
Elize told me that at times her "stuffed cup" moves and is uncomfortable so having a few well-fittiing bra's would lift her self image and help her feel more comfortable.
Embarrassing?

In my opinion, Elize tells a story of courage and sheer bravery.
I explained to her that by sharing her story she would be giving so many other breast cancer survivors hope and a huge amount of courage to also realize their dreams - whatever they may be.
As soon as I received Elize's letter I knew there was only one person to contact for help, and that was Sandra from Satin Candy.
Ladies, if you dread shopping for a new bra do not panic, you’re not alone. Whether it’s because you can’t find the right fit, the right style or good help at the mall or department store, bra shopping can be a harrowing experience. That is until you shop at Satin Candy Bra Boutique.
Sandra and her team are just superb and immediately jumped on board to help, not only offering Elize a prosthesis, but some stylish new bra's to make her feel wonderful once again.
Thank you Sandra for helping us change Elize's life.
