Chatsworth excels at SAPS National Excellence Awards ceremony
Updated | By Damon Beard
The community worked hard to keep the streets of Chatsworth safe by fighting crime and were recognised for all their hard work. Damon caught up with the Chairman of the Chatsworth Community Policing Forum after the big win.
Local is lekker!
The area of Chatsworth is making many on the East Coast proud after their Community Policing Forum (CFP) bagged an award for being the best in the country at keeping their area safe. According to TimesLive, the CFP covers over 13 suburbs within the south of Durban.
The KwaZulu-Natal Community Safety and Liaison website describes a CFP as a group which helps to control crime within an area by partnering and working with the police
While crime may still be taking place in the area, the CFP is working hard to tackle problems such as drugs, domestic abuse, and petty crime.

One person who is obviously excited about the win is Jakes Singh, who is the CFP's Chairman. I caught up with him after the SAPS National Excellence Awards ceremony which took place on Friday, 26th January at Durban ICC.
