SAMAs dress are doing the rounds on social media! We would like you to rate it
out of 5.

So the South African Music Awards took place at the Durban ICC this past weekend. It sure was a star studded event with Bonang Matheba being the best dressed girl, in my opinion, and Nathi taking best dressed guy.
There is one dress however that has caused a lot of controversy... the blue dress worn by Miss Boity Thulo.
It is no secret that this TV presenter/actress loves dressing up, but now there is a picture doing its rounds on the net where it seems like her lady parts made an appearance on the red carpet too.
A lot of people are saying it’s a shadow, and some say nah, it’s her bits. I want to know why (if those are her bits) she didn’t wear panties to cover up?
Either way, I’m more bothered by the fact that the acrylic nail on her right thumb decided to stay in Johannesburg.
Boity took to Twitter to defend her SAMAs outfit - read her Tweets here.
OF COURSE I have to defend myself from all the harsh things I have been reading about my dress and the negative sexual connotations created.

All created in the attempt of demeaning me. How can I not defend myself? I'm not a robot. I am a human being who has feelings.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
And to pretend that what I've been reading has no effect on me is a blatant lie.

We are always told to "not say anything because you're in the public eye", "Let them talk but don't respond." Well...
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
My line of work does not make my feelings immune to the negative words I read. And when necessary, I will respond.

The picture going around of my "supposed private parts" was created/photoshopped by people who revel in cyber bullying...
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
It was also created for the sake of trying as hard as possible to guilt a woman into feeling like she has no control over her body.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I'm truly disappointed as I've realized that most of the shaming comes from fellow women. It baffles me.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
This is a fight we should be fighting together in order for society to break the chains of controlling how women should look, feel, behave..
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I can't possibly be fighting for how I want to look. Feeling imprisoned, enslaved in my own body?
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I cannot and I will not allow your projection to force me into disliking MY body, how I treat it and how I dress it up.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
The obsession and double standards of the female body/anatomy, what should be done to it and how it should be treated is exhausting.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I will not wear something that does not satisfy me for the sake of pleasing people who are angry at how comfortable I am in my skin.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I encourage and stand for women to dress as they please, in whatever they feel comfortable and good in.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
You do not share your body with anyone. It is not your business to please someone else because of their own discomforts.

Stop encouraging women to feel enslaved by who you think they should be instead of allowing genuine freedom of self-expression.

We do not share the body nor do we make a joint effort in clothing it and taking care of it.
— Boity Thulo (@Boity) June 6, 2016
I will personally dress as I please, I will express myself the way I see fit and I encourage everyone to do the exact same.
