The Big Favour helps a pupil attend his matric dance
Updated | By Damon Beard
Every person deserves to attend their matric dance. What the Big Favour managed to organise for this young high school pupil is guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes.
In case you missed the Big Favour on-air, take a listen below, or read more underneath the podcast.
After agonising for some time whether to send an email or not, single mom Minette put her pride in her pocket and made contact with me.
Her son Ashton is in matric, which means that special prom. Minette was heartbroken because she could not afford to pay for her son's dance ticket, never mind the suit he needed and of course the transport to the big night.
Minette had even tried to find a second job so that she could save enough to make her son's night one he would remember forever, but she had no luck.

A huge thanks to Paul Smith from Debonair Suit Hire (031 701 0764) who came on board to help, ensuring Ashton will be dressed in the finest suit for his dance.
William from London Taxi Hire (083 656 1142) also agreed to help and offered to take Ashton and his partner to the dance in style - an original London Taxi Cab.
So often we get listeners donating money to the Big Favour and all the little bits help, so when Minette told us she was also battling to pay for her son's dance ticket, we thought it would be a brilliant idea to use some of the funds in the Big Favour account to pay for Ashton's ticket.
Enjoy your matric dance Ashton and we can't wait to see the pics.
