Exclusive: The Bachelor SA's Lee Thompson on finding love on national TV
Updated | By Terence Pillay
He is a model, an entrepreneur, a former Sharks rugby player and an all-round nice guy, and Valentine’s Day this year, he will be wooing some of the country’s most eligible single ladies. In his very first interview, Lee Thompson, South Africa’s first Bachelor opens up to Terence Pillay about life, love and everything in between.
Listen to the exclusive interview or read the details under the podcast:
When you meet Lee Thompson for the first time you find yourself immediately adjusting your hair or straightening your own clothes because he’s so well groomed and well put together that you can’t help feeling just a little inadequate, even if you’re not. And that’s probably the reason he peaked on Rapid Blue’s radar when they were looking for a bachelor to take center stage in the first ever South African incarnation of the hit reality show, The Bachelor.
So for people who don’t know anything about the show, The Bachelor is an American dating and relationship reality show that first emerged 17 years ago. The series revolves around a single bachelor who starts with a pool of romantic interests from whom he is expected to select a wife.
During the course of the season, the bachelor eliminates candidates, culminating in a marriage proposal to his final selection. The participants travel to romantic and exotic locations for their adventures, and the conflicts in the series, both internal and external, stem from the elimination-style format of the show.

He’s never been interviewed before so this is a huge scoop for us, and a longer podcast in which he opens up about his life, trying to find love and everything in between will be available after the show.
I have another little surprise so you have to follow me on Twitter if you want more details. All I can say is, there is the possibility that you too could meet him soon...
