Yay or nay: Couples who share a Facebook account?
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Sometimes Facebook feels like a land mine; a couple kissing here, a couple professing their love there or the best one, a couple that breaks up and makes up for us all to see.
I must be honest, I have totally gone off Facebook. I find it depressing with all the posts of imaginary life. All high gloss and 'look at me, we have the perfect life', while actually, it's a snapshot of an outstanding moment leaving the friends list feeling like the worst mom/wife/daughter on the planet!

In saying that, it is a great way to keep connected with family and friends abroad.
One of my work colleagues is on Facebook quite often and her favourite pastime is stalking her exes. With her current boyfriend, she insists on sharing a Facebook account with him.

She insists that it's not because she doesn't trust him, but rather a convenience thing. Personally, I don't get it. This smells of trust issues, right?!

Mr T is the most unsocial media person ever and was last on Facebook about two years ago, but if we were to share a social page I think it would drive him mad. Pages about fashion and the likes for days, but it would work for our mutual adoration for sneakers.
According to a publication by Health and Fitness Cheat Sheet, this is a list of the most annoying things couples do on Facebook, and I can't help but agree with a couple of them:
- Oversharing details of their relationship
- Having what should be a private conversation on their walls
- Posting goodnight messages - okay this is a funny one, data is expensive hey!
- Cheesy captions to all their photographs
- Posting kissing selfies
- Adding sappy hashtags to all posts - #Happy #Love #Kisses
- Bragging about each other - #MyGirlfriendIsBetterThanYours
- Having arguments
- Sharing an account!
- Breaking up and getting back together, all online
Phew, that's a lot!
Okay, all judgment aside, are you in a relationship where you share a joint Facebook account or is this a big no-no for your relationship? Let me know by commenting below.
