This is an interesting question. My uncle lost his home in the Knysna fires, and this question keeps coming up as stories of families grabbing their sacred belongings and running for their lives surface.
Obviously, my family's safety is all I would focus on, but let's say hypothetically they were out of the house and safe, the one item I would grab would be my wedding ring.
I have had a few different wedding bands, the one I wore ten years ago, the one I was gifted when Cooper was born, a ring my late gran left me, and now the one I treasure the most - the ring that was blessed at our wedding renewal last month.

Each family member placed their hands on top of our wedding bands. Charged by our village, our three kids, my sister, and her hubby and their kids, as well as my mom and dad.
The love, sentiment, and togetherness stored in a sacred heart. This is my most prized, materialistic possession.
Now I want to know from you, if you had just one minute and your house was on fire, what would you take?
