#ThrowbackThursdayTunes: Jane's top four throwback songs

It's Thursday so that means one thing - #TTT. This week, Jane decided to get all nostalgic about tunes that have a special meaning to her.

You may have felt a bit of a chill in the air this morning, so it's official that the cold front has hit us. In addition to a nice warm cup of coffee, there's nothing better than hot hits to warm you up.

If you missed it, we have started a new feature on the show called #TTT (Throwback Thursday Tunes). We give the opportunity to you to relive some of your most precious memories by playing some of your best throwback hits. If you want your track to be played on-air, drop me a WhatsApp message with your name and the word 'TTT' to 061 792 9495. It's really that simple.

So I was thinking that although I would love to hear what some of your best throwback songs are, I thought I would share the top four songs that have a very special meaning to me and the memory attached to it.

1. Pink Floyd- Another Brick In The Wall

This song was used in my end-of-year Matric variety show. I was in standard seven when myself and four other naughties got caught smoking on confirmation camp (that's another story for another day) and the Matrics ripped us off in the show by playing this song and dressing up in babies nappies, each carrying around an over-sized cardboard cigarette. How proud my parents would have been... not!

2. Counting Crows - Round Here

'August And Everything Around Here' was Counting Crows' first album that I ever bought. One of the tracks off this album, 'Round Here', has so many memories for me. Even so many years later, it is such a good track and memories of being in London and having the time of my life flood back to my mind. Ah, what special and treasured memories.

3. Tom Petty - Free Fallin'

Oh, my word! I cannot believe that I almost forgot this gem of a tune. This song takes me back to the 90's when I was on a crowded dance floor back in Pietermaritzburg dancing the night away with mates. The good old days when I was young, free, and living life (however, I must add that I would never trade my life now for anything or anyone in the world).

4. Billy Idol - White Wedding

Mike and I had a string section in the chapel at our wedding and we skipped down the aisle as 'Mr and Mrs Thomas' to a rock version of this classic tune. What a happy day filled with precious moments with my life partner. Till to this day when we listen to this track, we can't help but go back to that day. Amazing!

So now that I've shared what my top four tracks are, I want to know from you which of the four tracks you would vote for as the best track. Cast your votes in the poll below.
