Should cell phones be banned from restaurants?
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
I'm definitely guilty of taking Instagram pictures of my food and the company I'm with when out at restaurants, what do you think about the idea of cell phones being banned from restaurants?

It's very common these days to see eyes firmly planted into cell phone screens, instead of taking in the way the dappled light hits leaves, or how a burnt sunset says goodnight hell, I'm guilty of it! I spend time trying to capture the dappled leaf and the quickly exiting day light.
I do however make a conscious effort to stay off my phone once home in the afternoon and dedicate uninterrupted time with my smalls. Also when at a restaurant with my mans cell phone is poised on the side plate in case the babysitter is trying to reach me.
Janet Street-Porter has called to ban smartphones from restaurants. She believes phones stand between us and civilised behaviour and that phones have become the uninvited guest at every table.
