'Revolting Rhymes' animation puts SA on the map in Britain

Another homegrown production is making headlines overseas. This time it was for one of Roald Dahl's classics.

I am at this very moment in the throes of reading my eldest son Charlie and The Glass Elevator. Each night we snuggle up close together and get lost in words.
As you know, a local success story is my sweet spot and I thrive on hearing the achievements of my fellow South African citizens. It was just a few weeks ago that I chatted to Lara Lipschitz about her big win at the New York Web Fest. Now Triggerfish Studios, an animation company from Cape Town, has won at the BAFTA Children's Awards for their adaption of the classic Revolting Rhymes, made famous by Dahl himself.

According to TimesLive, the adaptation won Best Animation at the awards and it has been the second year running that they have been nominated for their works - and I wasn't surprised at all. After looking at a snippet from the animation, I was blown away by how extraordinary it looked. The characters were clearly defined and not to mention how real it actually looked. It's very easy to get lost in this Roald Dahl classic.
I managed to catch up with Stuart Forrest, the CEO of Triggerfish, after their big win. Listen as he shares his thoughts and feelings in the podcast below:
It's so amazing to have a South African connection to a lifetime of memories. Revolting Rhymes is legendary and if this trailer is anything to by, then it's the Emmys and beyond for them.
