Two years on and the Kwaito legend is remembered and sorely missed by many.

Last week I mentioned to you how much I loved his company and as I woke today I could not help but think of him and how he would have spent his 40th birthday. 

My thoughts are with his family on this special day. Mandoza’s widow‚ Mpho Tshabalala, said that they would spend his birthday at home with their family - a tradition he started.

Many have said that Mandoza changed the face of the South African music industry and there is no denying that. His songs have a unifying ability and they were able to even transcend age. 

Although this is a sad day, we felt the need to celebrate the man that was and his artistry. He will forever be remembered.
