PICTURES: Beautiful images of deserted Durban by Kierran Allen
Updated | By Shanice Pillay
Durban is a ghost town due to the current lockdown. This made for the ideal photo opportunity and Durban photographer Kierran Allen couldn't pass it up.

Kierran Allen, who has been a photographer for the past 15 years, has full authorisation to be covering the lockdown or any events surrounding the virus. The passionate Durbanite told us that he has been assigned to cover the Covid-19 outbreak in South Africa for various UK and local agencies.
"I'm a full-time content creator, and I saw this coming long before the lockdown happened and started chatting to agencies like SAPeople and the BBC to provide news coverage of the virus's effect on SA. Everyone is suffering in these hard times but we all need to do our bit, follow the rules and maintain some form of normality," said Allen.

Photography has been his speciality for many years. He covers both photography and video in any genre from news to even wildlife.
"As most of you know a few years back I shot a film called, 'Enter Durban', which went viral online. I'm a passionate Durbanite, this being an historical event I feel it's imperative to shoot content that can be used in the future to show what worked and what didn't work. I also strongly believe it's important to produce content that is real and can be shared with those stuck at home," said Allen.
We're thankful someone took the time to get these incredible images. Take a look at them here:
