Lucky groom-to-be scored expensive engagement ring due to website ‘typo’
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
This is probably the sweetest deal that anyone has ever got.
When I first read this headline, I thought: "sheesh, what a spot of luck", but when reading on, I must say this doesn't sit well with me.
Nicholas Buttle, a young man based in Brisbane, Australia, purchased an engagement ring for his fiancée for $1,110. However, an error on the jewler's website meant Buttle paid $33,000 less than the retail price. Nicholas took legal action against the jeweler after they refused to deliver the ring to him.

Nicholas eventually won the case. The court ordered the jeweler to pay the court costs, as well as deliver the ring to him.
The jeweler reported that they will be forced to close down after the ring is made.

Sure, the guy made the payment and the price stated wasn't right, but at the end of the day, I would hate my symbol of love to mean that someone was going to be out of pocket and even have to close their business down!
They both look so happy in the pictures. They seem so chuffed with their victory, but surely there is more to life than scoring an expensive ring at the cost of others? It's not like he paid for the ring and it never arrived. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel the love here.
Have a look at the ring here.
