Lifelong KZN couple renew wedding vows live on air
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
We marked Valentine's Day with the special wedding vow renewal of Mr and Mrs Asher, who have been together for 68 years.
Jane Linley-Thomas celebrates a love that has stood the test of time as she broadcasts her radio programme live from Cambridge Gardens (TAFTA) for Mr and Mrs Asher's wedding, 68 years after they first said: "I do".
Yesterday's Valentine's Day celebrations will forever be remembered. We had the privilege to bear witness to the vow renewal of Mr and Mrs Asher from TAFTA.
This loving couple has been together for 68 years and their love seems to grow with each moment.
As I mentioned to you on Wednesday, I came up with this idea in the middle of the night. I wanted to find the couple in KZN that has been married for the longest and then these two amazing people came into my life.

I still cannot believe how we managed to pull this all together and I'm extremely proud of everyone that came forward to make this a reality for such a special couple.
Trying to put into words the feeling and energy of the day is a hard one, even for me! When love is the guest of honour, it moves and stirs something deep inside you.

I feel so blessed and privileged to have been a part of such a sacred celebration. These two beautiful souls have crept into my heart in such a far out way. The love they have for life and each other is something you don't get to see every day. What a day of joy!
Remember to love your people hard. Tell them often how much you cherish, adore, and celebrate them.
Let love win!
