In an interview with W24, she says: “I’m looking for the closest thing to perfection.”
Since 2011, it has been recorded that she's had botox, eyebrow implants, and fillers for her nose. That was also when she started the journey of lightening her skin.
If you want to slam me for wanting a brighter, more glowing skin, then why not also attack people who pluck their eyebrows, change their hair colour or shave their legs. I’m not hurting anyone and it’s making my life easier. At the end of the day, choosing to have lighter skin really is just skin-deep.- Khanyi Mbau
I really believe how we choose to live and how we want to look is a very personal choice, obviously as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

I love Khanyi, she is glamour personified, but her statement doesn't make sense to me. I certainly wasn't born with jet black and mermaid blue hair, so I get the whole changing what is naturally yours, but in an environment where skin colour is such a big deal, this just confuses me.
I have to ask, when a person is in such an influential position, is altering their appearance not sending the wrong message to young girls and boys?
