Jane pens emotional open letter to her husband
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Many of us forget to take the time to thank our other halves for everything they do for us. Read this beautiful letter Jane has written for her husband.
Dear Mike
So yesterday we celebrated 8 years of marriage. It seems like we met just yesterday hey, and in the same moment can't remember life before you. Wow what an 8 years it has been. In that time we fell in love, got engaged, married, had our first born prince Cooper and then not long after we had our sacred pigeon pair Rocco and Lula and bought our dream home.
I still replay the look on your face as I walked towards you on our wedding day, your face flushed and tiger eyes full. As we skipped down the aisle hand in hand to Billy Idols white wedding (I was wearing mostly black) it just felt like home.
I still remember the first moment we cradled Coopers little body against our faces in the delivery ward, the start of an intoxicating love affair. It seems like yesterday that you were sleeping on the floor in my hospital room as I slowly gathered strength after that hardcore c sec, you were there every step of the way nursing me back.
It's been a rollercoaster hey?
Do you remember the moment we drove into our driveway being greeted by a 2 year old with two prem babies strapped into the backseat. What now wasn't an option. Funny how we only have pockets of memory around that really intense time, you know what they say, it takes a village to raise a child. I love watching you being a dad, I love how they love you,how their little noses crunch up, mouths open and little gappy teeth shining as you tickle and rumble with them. Gosh they adore their Dad. How you sit patiently having your nails done by our little girl child and in the next moment building forts with Roc and Cooper. When it comes to taking charge you are always firm and fair, always.
I love how patient you are, and how your word is your bond, if you made a promise to make the boys nunchucks on Sunday morning even after a late night watching Arno Cartsens, you do, and not any old nunchucks to just make do, the most impressive set (x2) you have ever seen. This to go alongside the life size Ninja Turtle cut out and wooden sting ray.........
Thank you for always being so ready to get stuck in and do whatever needs to be done in order to make sure us 4 are fine, infact more then fine. We are always comfortable and cared for when you are near.
Thank you for making me laugh until my ears hurt, the warm delicious dinner you make every night after a full days work, thank you for your care, and the way you look at us 4 with hearts in your eyes. We treasure you and are so grateful to have you as ours.
Nothing is ever a problem for you and your cheery disposition,I love hearing your whistle all through the house, always whistling. I love every freckle on your body and especially the heart-shaped one on your index finger. Thanks for being such a kind and compassionate soul! I can't imagine doing life with anyone other then you.
X Jane
