Jane: No one deserves to be a victim of abuse
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
After seeing these disturbing pictures of Mel B,
Jane was prompted to discuss the topic of abuse.
Listen as Jane speaks about abuse after seeing Mel B's disturbing pictures in the podcast or read more below:
I came across these pictures of former Spice Girl Mel B and they disturbed me. It's hard not to feel sad for her looking at these images. No one deserves to be treated like this, no one, not for any reason whatsoever.
Mel B has filed for divorce from film producer Stephen Belafonte and has made public claims that he repeatedly beat her and even got their nanny pregnant. She managed to get a restraining order which orders him to stay away from her and her three kids.
I really commend her for going public with this as it would have been much easier reaching for the foundation and covering her bruises up.
Instead, she decided to share her bruises with the world, most probably to be a voice to show there is no shame, it's not your fault, and that it happens to people regardless of how much money they make and who they are.

A twisted monster will always be a twisted monster and sadly most of the time they are products of a toxic and abusive background. We are not born with hatred and violence.
If you are living with abuse of any kind, I urge you to use these pictures as a reminder that, firstly, you are not alone and, secondly, you need to put a plan in place to get out. You don't deserve this, this isn't your fault.
Any type of abuse is not okay, whether it be emotional or physical. Usually the emotional is a lot harder to deal with as there isn't any physical signs to give you away and start the conversation.
