Glamour classifies Amy Schumer in plus-size issue without consulting her
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
Glamour Magazine is in big trouble with Amy Schumer. Check out what she had to say about being included in the latest plus size model edition on her Instagram page.
You know how it feels to be tagged in an unflattering picture on Facebook right!?
Can you imagine finding out you have been featured on the cover of a plus size magazine without even being asked?
Glamour's first ever plus size issue included celebs like Melissa McCarthy, Ashley Graham, Adele and Amy Schumer.
Glamour mag made a big mistake by including Amy Schumer, because firstly they didn’t consult her beforehand and secondly she isn’t a plus size model.
Amy Schumer took to social media to set the record straight:
‘I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous’
Glamour magazine responded and told the cut:
'First off, we love Amy, and our readers do too — which is why we featured her on the cover of Glamour last year. The cover line on this special edition — which is aimed at women size 12 and up — simply says “Women Who Inspire Us," since we believe her passionate and vocal message of body positivity IS inspiring, as is the message of the many other women, of all sizes, featured. The edition did not describe her as plus-size. We are sorry if we offended her in any way.'
Amy then decided to share her final thoughts on the matter by Tweeting this:
Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone except the people who told me what I "should feel" or what I "should have focused on" 🤓

My question is why have a separate magazine for fuller women?
We are forever being told to love who we are so why separate by size?
I would think rather having a magazine that shows diversity would be more inclusive wouldn't you say?
