What do you think of Ricky Gervais' Golden Globes opening speech? Hilarious or over the top?
I am such a Ricky Gervais fan!
Sure he was tasteless, crass and inappropriate but what did you expect!?
He came out armed with a beer and punches swinging.
He slammed every controversial topic and had a good go at Mel Gibson live to his face and 'softened' the blow by saying he'd rather have a drink with Mel in his hotel room as opposed to Bill Cosby.
Matt Damon was clearly thrown by his intro as Ricky said he (Matt) was the only person Ben Affleck hadn't been unfaithful to.
The room was a gasp for most of the evening but Ricky played the crowd like only he can while hunting the jugular.
