East Coast Radio family don doeks for Winnie Madikizela-Mandela

In honour of the late stalwart, the ECR family donned their doeks in solidarity on Friday.
South Africa has been in mourning since the passing of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
The 81-year-old died peacefully on Tuesday, 2 April in a Johannesburg hospital following a long illness.

This week, the ANC called on South African women everywhere to wear a doek, headscarf or beret, and dress in black to commemorate her life.
Taking to their Twitter account, the ANC said: “WINNIE MANDELA DIDN’T DIE. SHE MULTIPLIED... #AllBlackWithADoek this coming Friday in honour of Mama Winnie Nomzamo Madikizela Mandela."

The hashtag #AllBlackWithADoek trended on social media with many taking to the platform to share their pictures.

To show respect and to honour her life, the East Coast Radio family also heeded the call and wore their doeks with pride.
