Do not approve of your child's friend? What would you do?

We don't always get a choice in the people our children befriend, but how would you go about ending the friendship if it was bad for them?

What would you do if your child is friends with a child that you think is bad news? This is a situation one of my friends has found herself in. You want to be the 'cool' parent, but you also want your children to hang out with friends that share a similar value system.

Let's face it, who your child chooses to play with is often out of your hands, given they are away at school for most of the day. One can cross their fingers and hope for the best, though.
A friend's nine-year-old son insists on playing with a little chap who she believes is a 'bad influence' on him. This friend, who has two older brothers, is not your average nine-year-old as far as his interest in the other sex is concerned and on a few occasions has been heard speaking about pretty crude content.

Sure, boys will be boys, but at age nine, shouldn't they be interested in video games, bike riding, and fishing - not 'scoring chicks'?!
My mate has spoken to the boy's mom, and she brushed it off. Now my friend is trying to keep the two boys away from each other by not promoting sleepovers and play dates.
