Dinner in the sky still looks like one of the best dining experiences ever
Updated | By Stacey Norman
"No matter how many times you see the pictures and videos, the concept of dining in the sky is simply breathtaking," says Stacey Norman.
Dining out these days is not just about the food - it's a whole vibe and experience. The food plays a small part, but the ambiance, people, and surroundings really add to it.
I remember a few years ago when they had the 'Dinner In The Sky' experience here in Durban and all the craze that went with it. Everyone was pushing their way through to get a seat and experience dining on a huge table suspended into the air by a crane.
While trolling on social media, a friend of mine shared a clip showing what it would look like, and it looks like a complete vibe - like an experience of a lifetime.
I contacted Sky Events who manages 'Dinner In The Sky'. They confirmed that the one in Bryanston, Johannesburg is actually the only one of its kind here in Africa. I was cheeky and asked if they would be coming to Durban anytime soon.
"There is nothing planned for Durban at the moment. We would need to get a big enough booking to consider it," they said.
At least Joburg is just a quick flight away. By the looks of things, it will be oh-so-worth it, don't you think?
