#BeingMe: Here's what happened on week one of the new podcast series
Updated | By Jane Linley-Thomas
#BeingMe is a new podcast series on East Coast Radio which features the true life story of a gay man's road to accepting who he really is. In case you missed it, here's what happened in the first four episodes.
If you've tuned in this week during my show, you would have heard about a new podcast series that was launched.
It's called #BeingMe, and it follows a true life story of a gay Indian man living in KZN and his journey through life.
The week has been an emotional rollercoaster for me, but through it all, I felt very connected to his story, and I'm so proud that this brave man has decided to be a source of healing for others.
In case you missed any of the episodes, here's what went down in episodes 1 - 4:
Episode 1
In the first episode, #BeingMe sheds a light on him being different, and a particular incident that caused him to feel this way.
Episode 2
Episode 2 saw him fast-forward his life. A reflection of what he had to go through to get where he is at this present day.
Episode 3
Here #BeingMe talks about 'Kevin', the 'friend' that he describes as the one who changed him forever and dives into a humiliating incident which reduced him to tears.
Content warning: This episode may not be suitable for sensitive listeners.
Episode 4
Following the 'Kevin' incident, we thought things were going to look up, only to be sadly mistaken. He takes us through his schooling years, and what it meant to be confused and alone.
Phew! What a week it has been. Who knows what may happen next? Find out by tuning in on Monday at 14h26 to hear episode 5 of #BeingMe.
Remember - if you use an Apple device, you can find the podcast series on Apple Podcast - just search for 'Being Me'.
Alternatively, you can find the podcast channel here.
#BeingMe is a podcast series exclusive to East Coast Radio. Weekdays at 14h26.
