Barbie celebrates history's iconic women

Mattel has unveiled 17 new 'role model' Barbies in celebration of International Women's Day!
Kids around the world will soon be able to own a Barbie doll bearing the likenesses of Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart, and Katherine Johnson. All of these women have made history with female empowerment.

According to Huggington Post, the brand is also celebrating its 'Shero' line, honoring 14 modern-day role models from around the world. These dolls celebrate women who have recently broken boundaries in their fields. The line includes the likes of Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, 'Wonder Woman' director Patty Jenkins, and Australian wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin.

Love this! Gosh, I would so love a Frida doll, and the thought of my daughter playing with a Barbie who had such a powerful impact would be wonderful.
