Bag filled with moon dust sold for R23m at auction
Who would have thought that a bag of dust could cost this much?!
Dust is something that most people hate. It affects their sinuses and is just plain nasty to have around. However, this bag of dust is considered a piece of treasure - and is valued at $1.8-million!
A lunar bag filled with moon dust which was brought back by Neil Armstrong in 1969 sold at an auction recently for a whopping $1.8-million (that's over R23m for us South Africans). What a great piece of history, right? I totally love the bag the moon dust comes in too.
What does one do with a bag of moon dust? Sure, put it in a flat cabinet under lock and key. If I had the dust (and that kind of money), I would choose to sprinkle it out my car window, in my bath, and in my garden. I mean, why not?

I don't know what's more alarming, the price tag or the fact that some lady first bagged the dust for a measly $900 but then it was removed from her after legal action.
She must have felt like she had struck gold (or moon dust) when she arrived home with a purse filled with the iconic sprinkles, and then the reality of its worth must have been shattering.
A friend of mine literally bought two houses for the price of one once. The sale went through and the owner realised afterwards that he had sold the duplex for the wrong price. Say what?!

As for this bag filled with moon dust, to the owner who bought it, I suggest that you keep it 'in the bag' or under lock and key, as it seems that it is a well-sought after item.
