It was a lovely Saturday morning on the East Coast. The sun was out, birds were chirping, but there was a motor vehicle on the actual beach.

It was quite the sight on the golden Umhlanga beachfront.

Onlookers and social media users were perplexed by the scene.

"Clearly someone had a little too much fun the night before and took a drive that was a little too scenic," remarks Stacey and J Sbu.

This isn't a first for us. ECR is very well versed in cars being parked on the beach accidentally. Not too long ago, Carmen Reddy from East Coast Breakfast did exactly the same thing!

Luckily for her, there were people who helped get her car out of the sand. It's always great to know that there are helpful people who will always help someone in need.

Take a listen to the incident we now look back on and laugh at:

Carmen has had quite the eventful first full week of KZN with her car stuck in a sand pit.

So, here's what needs to happen if your car is stuck in the sand and you need to free it safely:

  1. Stay Calm and Assess the Situation
  2. Check Tire Traction
  3. Clear Sand Buildup
  4. Use Traction Aids
  5. Rocking Technique
  6. Enlist Help
  7. Deflate Your Tires
  8. Tow Strap and Recovery Points
