It is with heavy hearts that Stacey and JSbu give an update on Mike Van Rooyen, whose story the team shared with the rest of KZN earlier this week. In the early hours of this morning, Mike passed away.
On Monday night last week, a tragic multiple vehicle accident took place on the N3. Ten individuals were seriously injured. Mike Van Rooyen was one of them, and he was left in a coma unresponsive.

Stacey and JSbu were so touched by this story after having a chat with Mike's girlfriend, Kayla, who called on everyone to please offer prayers for the Van Rooyen family. In true KZN fashion, the team was flooded with messages of well wishes and prayers.

In part, Kayla shared the following words of her dear love, Mike:
You taught me to how bring the bright and colorful magic out of a grey and ordinary moment. You filled my heart with goodness and love. You gave me sugar when I needed the medicine to go down. And then, just like that, you you were gone. 💔 My sweetheart, I can't even begin to make sense of all this, my heart is just aching. But what I do know for sure is that right now you're flying through the sky sharing your special brand of Mikey Magic to anyone and everyone who needs it.- Kayla Rix
On behalf of KZN, Stacey and JSbu would like to share their deepest condolences with the Van Rooyen family. We can only imagine the pain that they are going through right now. To Kayla, thank you for being a warrior and being so gracious as to share Mike's story with us.
