Would you rather insure your sneakers or your moustache? You could do both!

Here's a list of some of the strangest things you can insure.
Most adults know that there are certain things you should have in order when you reach a certain age.

Like the various types of insurance. Life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, the list goes on.
Many of us have also heard of some celebs who have chosen to protect their most valuable assets - their body parts.

Miley Cyrus insured her tongue for $1-million, Rihanna her legs for $1-million, Kim Kardashian's bum (obviously) is insured for $21-million, and Mariah Carey's voice is at a whopping $35-million.
No real surprises here as these are literally their moneymakers and if anything were to happen to these "assets" it could end their careers.

People obviously think that this level of insurance is close to crazy and unnecessary, but as it turns out, it's not just the rich and famous who can insure some wild and strange things.
Here's a list of just a few seemingly outrageous things you can protect with a policy:
- Your plants
- Alien abduction - the company offers $10-million in coverage should you be abducted
- Spoiled food - should your power go off (could be useful for #loadshedding)
- Hole-in-one prize - reimbursement for a golfing competition prize
- Moustache - Australian cricket player Merv Hughes reportedly insured his mustache for approximately $370,000
- Fantasy Football

But the one that caught our very own Stacey Norman's attention is sneaker insurance.
As a self-proclaimed sneakerhead and shoe-lover, Stacey has quite the collection:

And with most sneakerheads, the main concern is wear and tear, dirt and damage.
You want those crisp whites to remain as white as the day you took them out of the box. But we all know what the weather in KZN is like.

You might leave the house early in the morning, sun shining and not a cloud in the sky, so you decide to wear your brand new Nike Air Force Ones, and a few hours later the rain is pouring down.
Those babies will never be the same.

That's where the shoe insurance comes in.
Seeing as Stacey has spent a fair amount of coin on her collection, would she ever consider insuring her sneakers?
Or are they not THAT valuable?

At the end of the day, you could probably one day insure whatever your heart desires because not all people connect the same level of importance to the same things.
If you have one pair of sneakers and you want to protect them at all costs, then you do you boo.
And if you want to make sure you're covered in case of an alien abduction, that's fine too.
