If you were wondering why dogs happen to be a man’s best friend, this next fact will blow your mind and possibly have you adoring your puppy even more....

Dogs may be more like humans than you think. These fluffy, adorable creatures have dreams as well!

Exactly like humans, dogs experience deep sleep and rapid eye movement.

The only difference is that your four-legged best friend may not be able to tell you about their dream... duh!

Dogs can have dreams about many things such as their normal day activities, that large frisbee you may have thrown during play time, and even that delicious dish you served during lunch time.

Your dog is most likely having frequent dreams about that mouth-watering bone they devoured recently.

With this in mind, there are multiple ways to identify whether your dog is dreaming. For instance, you would see a change in their body movement in the form of slight twitching of the tail and a soft sound.

Just as humans have dreams and nightmares, dogs can have nightmares as well. 

It is important for dog owners to not attempt to wake their dogs up as they may be agitated and disoriented from reality, so waking them up may cause them to react aggressively towards you.

Furthermore, if your dog has frequent nightmares, it could be linked to a sleeping disorder which should be taken seriously and examined by a veterinarian.
